The members of the school archaeology club received a summer task. The children have to do a summer task about their town during the Second World War. The summer holidays are approaching to the end but some pupils haven’t even started the project. Four friends cooperated together with a common aim — to do the task quickly. There was an airfield in their town. It was a very important place during the war. Now it has a historical value. So, the pupils gathered there for the research. They had been taking photos among the ruins when a terrible storm began. It was raining, the lightning was flashing and there was thunder. Suddenly a fire aircraft dropped out from the dark clouds and crashed onto the house. The house was in fire. A stranger appeared from nowhere. He was dressed as a military pilot. The man desperately shouted for help as there were children crying in the house.

Howard woke up from a terrible nightmare. In reality, he got into a bigger one. He was at the hospital with a broken head. The policemen called him Mr. Black. But Howard knew definitely that it wasn't his name. Unfortunately, he could not remember his right name. He lost his memory due to the injury. The police did not believe him. They started questioning him immediately. Howard was accused of illegal penetration into the house, murder of an old woman and stealing a green dragon. The man remembered nothing except the red eyes of the mysterious dragon and blood. He clearly understood that he was not a criminal. He was a victim. Howard runs away from the hospital at night. He has to regain his memory and prove that he is not guilty.

Their mutual friendship had been lasting for several years, until the narrator became an alcoholic. One day the man came home being drunk. He decided the pet was avoiding him. When he tried to seize it, the frightened cat bit its owner. In a moment of rage the man seized the animal and cut out the cat's eye

When I married my second wife Emily, I moved to her house in Northern California. It is a big house with a lot of land around it. It is outside a small town. The next house is almost exactly the same. It belongs to Emily's sister Millicent. Millicent and Emily. The sisters. But their appearances and character are completely different. Millicent is tall and rather thin. She is very strong-minded and likes to control everyone around her, including Emily. She wasn't too pleased when I came and took Emily away from her influence. At last the sheriff made an excellent plan to trap Robin Hood.

The narrator has been spending several days attempting to cheer up Roderick, but it is unable. Roderick suggested that this house is making him sick, something which the narrator has already suspected.

A doctor has become fascinated by hypnosis. He was curious to see what would happen to an individual under hypnosis during his dying. Would it stave off death? Would dying make hypnosis impossible? His friend has agreed to be the subject of this experiment. Seven months later, the doctor was called to the dying man's bedside. As the patient's breath and heartbeat were slow, the doctor has successfully hypnotized him. The dying man felt no pain and has responded to questions without rising from his trance. He asked the doctor not to wake him, but let him die without pain. The next day, the patient's eyes have rolled upward, his cheeks have lost their colour, and his mouth has opened. The man had been apparently dead.

A man is in a room without light. He attempted to figure out his rooms shape, and ended up almost falling down a pit. Later he was drugged by the food the captors have given him. He has ended up strapped to a table with a big pendulum holding a giant blade that was slowly descending. In order to save himself, he took the beef they have allowed him to have as a last meal, and smothered his bindings in their juices, prompting the rats to eat them. He was released just before the blade would have killed him, only the walls were moving towards the centre pit. He would have fallen in but a man had grabbed his arm. That man was an officer in charge of releasing all the prisoners at the end of the Inquisition.

Dramatic events of this story took place three thousand years ago in city of Thebes. All this had happened when a pharaoh Sati had been murdered. His woman has betrayed him with his High Priest of the Dead named Imhotep. The pharaoh had caught the lovers, so Anck-su-namun was afraid that he could kill them both. So she decided to kill him first, so she has knifed him with Imhotep's help. When they heard Sati's guards were coming, Anck-su-namun pushed the knife into her own stomach and said to Imhotep to bring her back to life later. She knew that he could do it. Woman was dying with thought that her man would do everything to see her again. Who knows how much strong he tried to revive her but it wasn't enough…
